The Liberty Hill Panthers crushed the Taylor Ducks 51-21 at Panther Stadium Friday night.

On the first possession of the game, the Ducks went four and out. Liberty Hill wasted no time getting on the board with Jon Shannon breaking through the line for a 71-yard touchdown on the Panthers first offensive play. Slade Cummins’ extra point gave the Panthers a 7-0 lead.

On the next series, the Panthers added a 1-yard touchdown run by quarterback Garrett Wright. Cummins’ kick increased the lead to 14-0.

To start the second quarter, Shannon punched the ball in from one yard out, but the extra point attempt went wide right, to keep the score at 20-0.

Taylor’s next series fell a yard short on fourth and six. The Panthers took the ball back and marched down the field, scoring on a 15-yard touchdown by Gage Fulps. Cummins’ kick made the score 27-0.

Taylor responded with a 22-yard touchdown run with 1:37 left in the first half.

Liberty Hill came out of the break and punched in a 17-yard field goal from Cummins.

The Ducks answered with a 43-yard pass from quarterback Terrell Reynolds to Malik Jackson to make the score 30-14.

To close out the quarter, Justin Burkett ran the ball in from two yards out. Burkett added touchdown runs of 2-yards and 12-yards in the fourth quarter.

Taylor tacked on one more touchdown with 2:48 left in the game to cut the Panther lead to 51-21.
