Williamson elected Mayor with 112 votes
In complete, but unofficial returns Saturday, Jamie Williamson was elected Mayor of Liberty Hill earning 68 percent of the vote over Jack Harkrider. Mrs. Williamson received 112 votes to Harkrider’s 52.
Only 27 percent of the 602 people registered to vote in city council races cast ballots in the race.
Also Saturday, incumbent school trustee Leslye Pogue received 65 percent of the votes cast for Place 4 over challenger Kim Corbett. Mrs. Pogue received 241 votes to Mrs. Corbett’s 128.
In the other contested race on the school board for Place 5, incumbent Alfie Perrin received 181 votes for 49 percent of those cast. Renee Morgan, received 80 votes, David Wise, 59 votes and Jim Dillon, 46 votes.
In other city council races, Vicki Brewer was the clear winner in Place 2 earning 74.5 percent of the vote. Mrs. Brewer received 120 votes, Della Hodgson received 32 votes and Michele “Mike” Murphy received 9 votes.
For Place 4, Wendell McLeod was the top vote getter, earning 62 percent of the vote. McLeod received 100 votes compared to Carrie Van Meeteren’s 54.
Sammy Pruett earned the most votes in Place 5 with 74 votes or 47 percent of those cast. Jim Wofford received 30 votes, Liz Rundzieher, 27 votes and Liz Branigan, 26 votes.
In the race for LHISD Place 2, incumbent David Nix ran unopposed.
