Karen Ann Vague

Karen Ann Vague, age 65 of Liberty Hill, passed away peacefully after a long, heroic struggle with cancer.

Karen was born in Oklahoma, and was a child of a military family that moved often when she was young. She was the daughter of Joseph Jay Rance and Mary Ann Rance, who preceded her in death, along with her brother, Bobby Rance.

Married for 37 years, she is survived by her husband Michael; her children, Thomas Joseph (TJ) Vague and his wife Melanie and Cailin (Vague) Soliz and her husband Brandon; two wonderful grandchildren, Avery Marie Vague and Kendall Grace Soliz; brothers, Joe and Michael Rance; and sisters, Diana (Rance) Gosnell and Linda (Rance) Adams.

She is doubtlessly remembered for her time at Dahlia Café, where she was the bright, shining face that greeted her many friends. She always had a hug and an encouraging word for so many people for many years. Karen loved Liberty Hill and was active in the school system, but what she excelled at was being a great mom and a great gram-gram to her two grandchildren. She was so full of love and joy, and her children and grandchildren will always remember the positive support and love she gave unconditionally.

There were many angels that helped Karen during this last year, and their loving kindness was spoken of often. They made a difficult journey wonderful. Karen knew she was loved by many.

She treasured her time at the Andice Baptist Church and friends that she made there.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Andice Baptist Church in Andice and will be conducted by Pastor Derrick Norris.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Hospice Austin, who was so supportive to Karen and her family.
