Many nearby choices for July 4th fireworks, family-friendly celebrations


Though Liberty Hill is not hosting a community Fourth of July celebration, several surrounding communities will be hosting special events, so fireworks are just a short drive away.

BERTRAM will celebrate Independence Day with a fireworks show at the baseball fields in the 600 block of E. FM 243. The fireworks show will start at dark and lasts about 30 minutes. The show will also feature a local singer performing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and a concession stand will be open.

The ANDICE Community Center hosts an annual July 4th fireworks show.  This year’s show will be at dusk on Wednesday. The show is free to the public. Donations are accepted to help pay for the fireworks show and any additional proceeds will go to support the Andice Community Center, a non-profit organization.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers and sit under the shade of live oak trees in a country setting. This year’s festivities include homemade ice cream, BBQ, hot dogs, snow cones, drinks, arts and craft vendors and live music.  Alcohol and pets are not permitted on the grounds. The community center is located at 6600 FM 970.

GEORGETOWN will be hosting its annual Fourth of July festivities with an all day celebration in San Gabriel Park. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with over 60 arts and craft booths, 20 food vendors. kiddie rides, bounce houses and games along with a petting zoo.  Musical entertainment featuring local and Central Texas talent will begin at the gazebo at noon and will continue all day. A “Hometown Parade” sponsored by the Leadership Georgetown Alumni begins at 11 a.m. Admission to the park is free.

LEANDER’S Liberty Fest will be held in the parking lot of HEB Plus on U.S. Highway 183. The event will feature food, kids activities, music by The Emotions and fireworks by Pyrotecnico. Admission is free. No alcohol or glass containers are permitted at the event.

CEDAR PARK will be celebrating in Milburn Park, and will feature a dance with live music, bingo, a washer tournament, air castles, free watermelon and a fireworks display.  Admission is free, but fees apply for food concessions, face painting, carnival games, hamster balls, video games, laser tag, spinner ride and rock wall. The celebration will be from 4-10:30 p.m. Milburn Park is located at 1901 Sun Chase Blvd.

ROUND ROCK is holding its annual July 4th Frontier Days at Old Settlers Park. The event, held from noon to 11 p.m., will feature free watermelon, a Sam Bass shootout, a pepper eating contest, Ballet Folklorico dancers, and fireworks. The day ends with a Movie in the Park screening of “Captain America.” Old Settlers Park is located at 3300 Palm Valley Blvd.

PFLUGERVILLE’S Pfirecracker Pfestival is the go-to for an old fashioned Independence Day at Lake Pflugerville.

The event will feature live music, festival food, games for the kids, community washer and horseshoes, a fabulous fireworks display and a live concert to top off the evening. The event takes place from 4-11 p.m. at Lake Pflugerville.

The AUSTIN Symphony Orchestra will be performing the “1812 Overture” accompanied by 75-millimeter Howitzer cannons, during the Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks. The event is free and open to the public. The event will be held at Auditorium Shores, and the performances begins at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m., ending at 10 p.m. Come early, bring a picnic, claim a grassy spot and enjoy the patriotic music of the Austin Symphony Orchestra. Concessions will be available on site.

The MARBLE FALLS Community Fireworks Show will be held at Lakeside Park, with events starting at 5 p.m., including music by Hill Country Band and The Proctor Band.  This event is funded by donations and a drawing will be held to reward donors. Every $25 donation made earns the donor a chance to win two tickets to the season home opener of the Dallas Cowboys. The drawing will be held the evening of July 4th. The fireworks show will start at 9:15 p.m., and will be broadcast on KBEY 103.9 radio.
