A community of giving

Less than six hours into Liberty Hill’s first-ever Day of Giving, the community has sent a clear message – Liberty Hill is a community of giving.

The Day of Giving was launched by The Liberty Hill Independent today at the Chamber of Commerce monthly Lunch and Learn where more than 70 people listened to nine deserving organizations share their needs as they serve Liberty Hill.

By early afternoon, the total raised was more than $16,000, with three organizations – the Liberty Hill Public Library, Operation Liberty Hill and Hope House – leading the way with more than $4,000 each.

“We have amazing nonprofit organizations in our town that are doing wonderful things in our community, for our children, for our seniors, for our history,” said Katie Amsler with The Independent. “We encourage you to learn their stories, dig deep, open your heart and do what you can to help.”

The nine organizations include L4Cares, Cross Tracks Church, Hope House, Liberty Hill Development Foundation, Divine Savior Church, Liberty Hill Lions Club, The Liberty Hill library, Dream A Dream Therapeutic Horsemanship, and Operation Liberty Hill.

Go online to the Day of Giving page to learn all about the organizations and their needs and to donate.

“We really can make a difference if the whole town gets together,” Amsler said. “It will be amazing what we can do.”
