Virginia Glaspy Brizendine
Virginia Glaspy Brizendine, 78, of Liberty Hill, Texas passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2016.
A private service will be held for Virginia.
She was born in Bertram, Texas on January 8, 1938 to parents Henry and Jayne (Mills) Glaspy. Virginia married GC Brizendine on April 21, 1960 in Los Angeles, California. She spent many years after GC passed away missing his presence in her life. They were married for more than 35 years.
Virginia spent over 38 years with the Internal Revenue Service in Austin, Texas as a Tax Return Specialist. She was a member of the Bertram Presbyterian Church. She served many years as the pianist for St. Paul Presbyterian Church in Austin.
Virginia was known as Mamaw, Ginny or G G by many. She loved her family above everything else; they always came first. She was an avid sports fan, but especially a Texas Longhorn sports fan. She loved being in the very special home that she and her late husband, GC, built 30 years ago. She left peacefully from there.
Virginia’s family would like to thank Altus Hospice Caregivers for their care and support for Virginia and their family. A special thank you, also, to Mog, Tory and Lisa for their special care.
Preceded in death by her husband, GC Brizendine; parents, Henry and Jayne Glaspy; sisters: Nancy Brizendine and Helen Smith; son, David Brizendine; grandson, Shaun Brizendine.
Survived by her daughter, Tracey Brizendine and Douglass; son, Randy Brizendine and wife Jan; grandsons: Lane Vaandrager and Tory, Graham Vaandrager, Wayne Brizendine and wife Carrie, Randal Brizendine and Lauren; granddaughters: Stacey Parrish and husband Jason, Catlyn Bone, Rachel Adams and husband Mike, Amanda Turki and husband Jammel, Brittany Brizendine; and 15 great-grandchildren.
