Ten candidates have filed in the races for a pair of places on the Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees and three places on the City Council.

In the City Council race, Steve McIntosh, a retired Sheriff’s Department Sergeant, has filed to run for Place 1 against incumbent Troy Whitehead who works for Pedernales Electric Cooperative.

Place 5 incumbent Liz Rundzieher, who is retired, is being challenged by William Brannan, the Head of School at Fortis Academy, who came up short last May when he ran against Wendell McLeod.

Liz Branigan, a registered nurse and the Place 3 incumbent, will face Gram Lankford, a service technician.

In the LHISD School Board race, Place 6 incumbent Vickie Peterson, who works as a director of operations, is seeking re-election and fielded no opponent.

Place 7 incumbent Scott Lindquist, a business owner, is seeking re-election, and is being challenged by Megan Parsons, a small business owner and homemaker; and Terry Smith, who is retired from military service.

Election Day is May 4. The Independent will host a candidate forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at Liberty Hill Junior High for all candidates.
