Bill Burden Elementary School welcomed state officials and special guests Jan. 6.

State Rep. Marsha Farney, R-Georgetown, and a representative of State Rep. Tony Dale, R-Cedar Park, along with Leander ISD Superintendent Dr. Bret Champion visited the school to learn more about Reasoning Minds.

Reasoning Minds is a web-based math program sponsored by a state grant. Bill Burden Elementary is in the second year of the two-year grant.

“Our guests met first to go over general Reasoning Minds program data, and then we discussed the relevance and progress data collected at Burden using this program,” said Principal Terrie Chambers.

“We are always proud to showcase our district’s commitment to student progress, as well as our students’ participation and success in new technology-driven instruction,” she said.

Chambers said by sharing the school’s perspective and success with the program, “we are providing strong evidence to our lawmakers of the positive outcomes that result by investing in the future of our children in public school.”
