Northline project announces first retail anchor

LEANDER — The Northline development, currently under construction along US Highway 183 and 183A in Leander, has announced its first retail anchor tenant: The HUB.

The Leander location will be The HUB’s second in the nation. The first is located in Seaside, Fla. The HUB is an indoor-outdoor venue where visitors can gather to eat, drink, shop, see movies, listen to live music and watch sports. While the Leander location of The HUB will have the same amenities as the Florida location, the final design and architecture will be unique to Northline.

“The HUB encapsulates everything Northline represents,” said Alex Tynberg, owner and developer of Northline. “It’s a premium destination where parents can get together for a drink and let their kids run free. I had the opportunity to visit the original location, and with a concert on stage and children dancing on the turf, I absolutely loved the vibe. I’m beyond excited to bring this exciting amenity to Leander.”

The HUB at Northline will feature restaurants, bars and shops, all surrounding a central lawn and patio area with covered picnic tables and lounge furniture, according to a press release. The venue will offer an event stage and a covered pavilion with an LED jumbotron and will be programmed with daily events.

“The proof is in the numbers,” said Brad Zeitlin, co-founder and owner of The HUB. “It’s astounding how quickly Leander is growing. There’s clearly a need for this type of venue for the community, where the everyday focus is simply quality time spent with family and friends. We look forward to bringing our concept to Northline.”

Tynberg said The HUB will be an asset to all Williamson County residents, including those who live in Liberty Hill.

“Northline is located less than five miles from Liberty Hill, meaning that residents are extremely close to a premier entertainment district, right here in Williamson County,” he said. “The HUB’s unique concept offers a family-friendly place for neighbors to gather, enjoy food and beverages, catch a movie, or listen to a concert, all in one convenient location.”

In addition to landing The HUB, Northline has also added medical office space to its commercial uses in conjunction with the adjacent St. David’s Hospital complex. Upon completion, Northline will be Leander’s new downtown district. Situated on 115 acres, it will bring a variety of restaurants, retail, residential, offices, healthcare, hotels, civic and public gathering spaces and more to the area. The project is being developed by Northline Leander Development Company (NLDC) and Lincoln Property Company.

Construction on the project has been underway since the groundbreaking in early 2020, and the first vertical developments are slated for 2021. Full buildout of Northline is expected to be completed in the next 10 to 12 years.

“Leander and Williamson County continue to grow at an astounding rate, with no signs of slowing down,” Tynberg said. “Even amid this growth, our community has lacked a true downtown until now. Northline’s vision has always been to create a walkable, central destination, and with The HUB as our first anchor tenant, we’ve made a major step forward in achieving that vision. The HUB’s tremendous success at its flagship 30A location makes this announcement all the more exciting, and we look forward to welcoming the Liberty Hill community to join us at Northline.”
