Liberty Hill softball drops game at Georgetown

The Lady Panthers lost a close game at Georgetown Tuesday night, 6-5.

Liberty Hill put up 9 hits to go along with five runs.

Kinsey Kuhlmann hit a single and a double; Sam Barnett recorded 2 singles, 1 home run and 3 RBI; Jenna Keischnick had a single; Haylee Park had a single and an RBI; McKinley Browder recorded a single and Kaity Sullivan hit a double in the loss.

Pitcher Nicole Thiem was charged with the loss.

At a tournament in Round Rock over the weekend, the Lady Panthers posted four wins against two losses.

Liberty Hill defeated Vista Ridge 5-2.

Barnett had a single, Joely Williamson had 2 singles; Kieschnick added a single; Browder recorded a single and RBI; and Covington added a single.

Truax recorded 2 RBIs and Sullivan had 1 RBI.

Thiem got the win.

In the second game, Liberty Hill lost to Westwood, 1-0.

Park and Covington recorded the lone two hits for the Lady Panthers.

Liberty Hill bounced back to blank Crowley 12-0.

Barnett smacked a home run; Williamson hit a single and home run; Kieschnick recorded a single; Truax had a single; Browder added a single, Covington had a single and Fambrough recorded a single.

Thiem pitched the Lady Panthers to the win.

Against Corpus Christi WB Ray, the Lady Panthers won 6-0.

Hits were recorded by Kuhlmann-single, double, homerun; Barnett–double; Keischnick–single, home run; Truax–single; Park-single, double; Sullivan–single. Amber Wiggins got the pitching win.

The Lady Panthers knocked off Cedar Park Vista Ridge 14-4, and recorded 19 hits in the game.

Thiem once again got the win.

In the final game of the tournament, Westwood beat Liberty Hill again, 7-1.

Hits came from Truax–2 singles; Williamson–single; Browder–single; Covington–single.

The Lady Panthers are 9-3 on the season and ranked number four in the most recent rankings released by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Liberty Hill will play in a tournament at Seguin Thursday through Saturday, before returning home to host Giddings on Tuesday. Junior varsity is slated to play at 5 p.m., while varsity takes the field at 6:45 p.m.
