Liberty Hill girls soccer shut out by top-ranked Salado

The Lady Panthers dropped a 2-0 game at No. 1 ranked Salado Tuesday night for their first district loss of the season.

The Lady Eagles are the number one team in 4A according to the poll released this week by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

Salado scored goals in the 115th and 119th minutes of the game.

At Jarrell Jan. 29, Liberty Hill won 7-0.

Kaitlyn Peterson put the first point on the board for Liberty Hill in the 2nd minute, with the assist from Emma Hofmann. Brianna Stark scored off the assist from Alex Svetlik in the 9th minute.

Averi Stratton found the back of the net in the 21st minute with the assist by Peterson.

Gaby Garcia added another point with a goal in the 82nd minute off the assist from Stratton.

Stratton scored again in the 97th minute.

Mackenzy Turner scored a goal in the 102nd minute, assisted by Svetlik.

Stratton scored the final goal for the game in the 120th minute off the assist from Miriam Powell.

Liberty Hill is 6-5 on the season and 2-1 in district.

The Lady Panthers will look to get back in the win column as they travel to Lampasas Friday. Liberty Hill will host Gateway Tuesday. Varsity will play at 5:30 p.m.
