Larnce Dean “Blackie” Whitehead, 72, of Liberty Hill, Texas, passed away with his family by his side on May 8, 2018.  He was born on November 5, 1945, in Austin, Texas, to Cecil F. Whitehead and Loise (Floyd) Whitehead.

Blackie served as a Deacon at the First Baptist Church of Liberty Hill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Loise Whitehead; grandson, James Hurtado; brother, Tim Whitehead, and sister, Betty Brown.

Blackie is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Warren) Whitehead of Liberty Hill; children, Wendy Davis, Troy Whitehead, Clint Whitehead and Kara Hurtado and husband Michael all of Liberty Hill; grandchildren, Kenneth Davis, Morisa Davis, Larnce Davis, Meghan Whitehead, Allison Whitehead, Rhyley Whitehead, and Leah Hurtado; brothers, Jimmy Whitehead and wife Treva of Georgetown and Cecil Whitehead, Jr. of Elgin; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Blackie was a loving father and a grandfather. He loved the outdoors, hunting with his sons and fishing. In his spare time he enjoyed reading and watching “Jeopardy”. He loved playing Uno with his granddaughters and arguing over who won. He was a hard working man and jack-of-all-trades.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 11, 2018, at Union Hall Baptist Church, Liberty Hill, Texas.
