Lady Panthers continue district dominance
By Scott Akanewich
During the second set of the Lady Panthers’ road match against Lampasas on Friday, Lilli Wilkins rose up off the floor alongside Ashley Nelson, providing a stone wall against a Badgers attempt which failed to find its intended target during a 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-15) Liberty Hill victory.
The play typified the type of defensive presence Wilkins has provided all season from her middle blocker position and once again went a long way in helping her club to another win in a streak which now stands at 16 matches.
Wilkins blocked four shots in all on the match and added three aces, while Nelson and Ailie Hair each contributed six kills for the visitors.
Emma Parsons collected seven assists, while fellow sophomore setter Emma Becker added eight, with Becker and Nelson getting seven and four digs, respectively. Kindsee Escamilla blocked a pair of shots, while Hair had two blocks and two aces.
Liberty Hill (34-13, 7-0) will next host Salado on Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.
