Joe Paul Pate
Joe Paul Pate was born July 14, 1955, as Jacob David Houtkin.
He had two older siblings, brother, Mike and sister, Debbie.
Joe was adopted February 5, 1959 by Joe and Thelma Pate. Joe passed away April 10, 2016.
Joe was preceded in death by both his birth parents, his adopted parents and his brother.
Joe is survived by his wife, Kay Pate, and children, Michelle and Christopher, grandchildren Drake and Aliya, his step-children, Max and Tara, and his step-granddaughter, Britton, as well as many dear friends and extended family.
Joe was a member of the Round Rock Community Choir, Central Texas Master Singers, and the American Legion. Joe served honorably in the United States Army where he entered active duty in September 11, 1974 – July 15, 1980.
In January 2002, Joe followed his dream and started his own business, “Joe” the Honey-do Handyman, where he made close friends with many of his customers and became very well known throughout his community.
Joe married his high school sweetheart 39 years later – Kay Morse Pate on December 12, 2012.
Joe lived life to the fullest and left this Earth while enjoying a fun adventure he had planned for he and his wife. May he rest in paradise!
A Memorial Service will be at 10 a.m. April 30, 2016 at First United Methodist Church, 1004 N. May Street in Round Rock.
