James was born on July 21, 1970 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and moved to Leander, Texas in 1980.

He graduated from Leander High School in 1989 and shorty after started working for Young & Pratt mechanical contractors where he worked for 25 years. James was diagnosed with cancer on December 23, 2013. He battled the cancer bravely and with ferocious determination. On September 3, 2014, James was told that the cancer had taken over, he still continued to fight with the same strength and determination to the end. He was a true winner.

James’s greatest joy in life was his wife and daughter. He met the love of his life in 1989 and stole her heart. In 1997, their daughter “joy of their life” was born. James worked hard to provide for his family and he was a hero to both of them.

James was truly proud of his daughter, Brianna. He taught her to set high goals for herself. He took much pride in her accomplishments both as a scholar and as an athlete.
