Irene Nevolene Clark Floyd, age 92 of Georgetown, Texas passed away Friday, January 12, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mrs. Floyd was born April 7, 1925 in Mahomet, Texas the daughter of Arthur and Sallie Clark. She was one of five children.
In 1942, Nevolene married the love of her life, Charles C. “Buster” Floyd. Buster and Nevolene had five children. Nevolene was a dedicated homemaker to her family and caregiver to her mother in law, Nellie Floyd. She was employed several years at Bill’s Dollar Store in Burnet and worked sometime at the Burnet High School. Mrs. Floyd enjoyed quilting, sports and crossword puzzles and spending time with friends and family playing dominoes and washers. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Nevolene is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles C. Floyd. Her daughter Gayla Floyd Light; mother and father, Arthur and Sallie Clark, and her one sister and three brothers.
Survivors include her son, Charles Edward and wife Lillian Floyd of Burnet; three daughters, Sandra and husband Jimmy Sheffield of Georgetown, Diane and Paul Bohanan of Weir, Sallye and Tommy Long of Burnet; 15 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and eight great great-grandchildren. And many relatives and close friends.
Services are at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet with Steven Kilpatrick officiating. Internment at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers are her grandsons Jeff Long, Lance Long, Craig Shuffield, Kelly Shuffield, Jimmy Sheffield, Keith Sheffield, Allan Floyd, and Buster Lynn Frazier. Honorary pallbearers: Mike Floyd, Leslie Ray and Tony Mitchell.
