Girls take 4th, boys take 5th in Burnet Bulldog Relays

Varsity Boys

Liberty Hill’s track teams traveled just up the road to Burnet for the Bulldog Relays last Thursday, March 2, where the boys finished in fifth place as a team, behind Lampasas, San Antonio Cole, Llano and Austin Reagan.

Sophomore Nick Roth took third in the 800 for the Panthers with a time of 2:05.04, and was the only Panther to place in the event.

Roth also finished third in the 1600 with a time of 4:51.62, followed by freshman Gabriel Diaz in fourth with a time of 4:53.82.

Liberty Hill freshman Clayton Nance took fourth in the 3200 with a time of 10:43.08, followed by Diaz in fifth with a time of 10:49.56.

Sophomore Ben White took third for the Panthers in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.84. He was the only Panther to place in the event.

White also took sixth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 43.54, as he tied with Liberty Hill junior Brandon Mckissick. Mckissick also took sixth in the triple jump.

The Panthers’ 4×100 relay team finished second with a time of 44.85, their 4×200 relay team finished third with a time of 1:34.40, and their 4×400 relay team took sixth with a time of 3:42.20.

Varsity Girls

The girls took fourth in the Bulldog Relays last Thursday, finishing behind San Antonio Cole, Lampasas and Lago Vista.

Sophomore Kennedy Coleman took fourth for the Lady Panthers in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.59 as the only Panther to place.

Lily Miller took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.36, followed by Victoria Kelley in third with a time of 27.53.

Mckynzie King took first in the 800 with a time of 2:25.16, followed by Madison Sears in sixth with a time of 2:37.54.

Hannah Brown finished third in the 1600 with a time of 5:54.93, followed by Sears in fifth with a time of 5:56.90.

King also took first in the 3200, finishing nearly a minute ahead of the second place finisher with a time of 11:45.30. Hannah Johnson placed fifth for the Panthers in the 3200 with a time of 13:10.60.

Freshman Mikayla Shaw was the only Lady Panther to place in the hurdles, finishing fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 54.25.

The girls’ 4×100 relay team took fifth with a time of 53.95, their 4×200 relay team took third with a time of 1:51.86, and their 4×400 relay team took second with a time of 4:16.02.

Emily Layton placed sixth in the discus for Liberty Hill as the only Lady Panther to place in the event.
Nya Casebolt took sixth in the triple jump. She was the only Lady Panther to place, as well.

Liberty Hill’s next track meet will take place Thursday, March 9, at Lampasas High School as both the boys and girls take place in the Badger Relays.
