The community is invited to attend a reunion of those who attended Liberty Hill’s old red school from 1-6 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at the VFW Post downtown.
The red brick school building, which was located on the site of the current Liberty Hill Intermediate School, was torn down and replaced in 1969.
Event organizer Gary Spivey, a member of the Liberty Hill Development Foundation, said anyone associated with the old school is encouraged to attend along with others in the community interested in learning more about the history of Liberty Hill.
Those who attended the school, or whose relatives may have attended the school, are asked to bring any old photographs and yearbooks, or other memorabilia. Items that may be shared or donated to the planned Liberty Hill Museum will be accepted at the event, as well as financial donations to the project.
