Leander police are searching for two missing teens, who disappeared at separate times, but whose disappearances may be connected.
Alexis Collins, 16, of Leander, was last seen the evening of July 11. Her mother, Stephanie Kimey, says that she and Alexis fixed a small supper together before Kimey left to meet up with her friends for dinner. Upon her return, Kimey says Alexis was gone.
Alexis attended Liberty Hill schools from grades 5-9. Last school year was her first year to attend Leander High School where she will be enrolled in 2012-13 as a junior.
“Everything was fine,” Kimey says, “We were doing our thing. When I got home, she was just…gone.”
Kimey says that Alexis took nothing from the house with her, and that indicates that she did not run away.
“She’s a good kid,” Kimey said. “There’s no reason she would just go missing.”
Kimey says that after making phone calls all night, Alexis’ boyfriend, Josh Plourde, 17, left his home at approximately 3:30-4 a.m. to go looking for Alexis. Now, he too, has never returned home.
Alexis Collins is a white female, 5’6”, approximately 160 pounds. She has brown hair and green eyes.
Josh Plourde is a white male, 6’5”, with a tall, thin build. He has blue eyes and brown hair. Josh was last seen driving a faded blue Ford Explorer, license plate number 277 NBR.
Anyone with information on the missing teens is asked to contact the Leander Police Department at (512) 528-2800.
