Born January 17, 1997 in Tulare, CA, Marshall moved with his mother, Brandee and brother, Wyatt, to Sweet Home, OR when he was 2 and started school there close to most of his maternal family until the age of 6 when they moved to Las Vegas, NV and met Donovan VanZandt who would become Marshall’s father. In 2006 the family moved to the Round Rock/Liberty Hill area. Marshall would have been a senior at Liberty Hill High School and had planned to follow his great grandfather, grandfather, two uncles, and cousin into the military upon graduation.

Marshall loved sharing his family with his friends and his friends with his family through frequent trips to area lakes and weekly pizza and movie nights. He loved to laugh and to make others laugh as well and enthusiastically shared his humor with everyone he came in contact with. As awkward as he sometimes appeared, Marshall was comfortable in his own skin. He had the unique ability to sense another’s pain or fear and open his huge loving heart to them.

Marshall is survived by his mother, Brandee Day-VanZandt; father Donovan VanZandt; and brother, Wyatt VanZandt of Liberty Hill; grandparents Bob & Jan Day, OR; Sylvia Cunningham and Joe & Susan VanZandt, TX; birthfather, Eric Whiteley, and grandparents Ed & Yvonne Whiteley, CA; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.

A celebration of his rich but too-short life will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 7pm at Margarita’s in Liberty Hill.
