Leroy Ward, 66, passed away on April 30, 2014 at Seton Williamson in Round Rock, TX. He was born on December 3, 1947 in Austin, TX to Charlie and Lola Ward.
Leroy grew up in Leander, TX and attended Leander High School. He was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War. Leroy worked for Steinberger Drilling in Bowie, Texas for 20 plus years, he returned to Central Texas in 1995. He went to work for Adams Drilling, which he later took over and renamed to A&W Water Well Service.
Leroy married Evelyn in 1967 in Leander, TX. They were happily married for 47 years. Leroy was a devoted husband, father, and all around one hell of a man.
Leroy is survived by his wife Evelyn of Bertram, TX; his father, Charlie Ward of Leander, TX; son Richard Ward and wife Paige of Bowie, TX; daughter Debra Cannon and husband Willie Sr. of San Angelo, TX, son Charlie Ward and wife Stacy of Liberty Hill, TX; son William Ward and wife Cynthia of Bowie, TX; Sisters Willie Poole and husband Keith of Bertram, TX, Virginia Kelso of Cedar Park, TX, and Judy Fitch and husband Matt of Leander, TX; 13 grandchildren, Michael, Jeremy, Willie Jr, Jessie, Kursten, Chelsea, Taylor, Clayton, Reagan, Samantha, Jay, Sydney, and Easton; one great grandchild Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Leroy was preceded in death by his mother Lola Ward
A visitation was held at Beck Funeral Home May 2, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. where the family greeted friends and relatives. Burial was Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Newport Cemetery in Newport, TX
