LHHS Track shines at East View

The Liberty Hill Panthers’ Track and Field team posted solid results at East View High School on April 3, in the team’s final meet before District. Expectations are high for the Liberty Hill athletes as they look to post some of their best results of the season on their home track.

The team competed on Wednesday, April 9, in the preliminaries during press time and will continue on Thursday evening in the finals. The athletes who place in the top of their events at District will then move onto the Area Round, which takes place April 16 in Brownwood.

The Liberty Hill Varsity Girls track team placed first overall in the team standings, with 124 points, at the East View Patriot Relays.

Danielle Rimann finished first in both the 3200 Meter Run and 1600 Meter Run. Rimann finished with a time of 5:27.90 in the 1600 Meter Run and a 12:38.99 in the 3200 Meter Run. She was followed by her teammate Chelsea Cole who finished second in the 3200 Meter Run (12:49.99), and third in the 1600 Meter Run (5:31.51).

Madi Sharp finished first in the 100 Meter Hurdles with a time of 16.20. Sharp also finished first in the Girls High Jump with a best height of 5’4”, and finished second in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 48.89.

Heather Shaffer finished in second in the Pole Vault with a best height of 10’6”. Lilly Miller finished in second place in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 27.19.

Maria Rodriquez finished second in the 400 Meter Dash with a time of 1:02.90. Ana Rodriquez finished third in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 49.10.

Avery Tudyk finished third in the Long Jump with a best distance of 16-3 ½. Bridgett House finished third in the High Jump with a best height of 5’0”.

The Liberty Hill Boys Varsity team finished in fifth place in the team standings at the East View Patriot Relays with 61 points. Taylor High School dominated multiple events and finished in first place in the team standings with 167 points.

Liberty Hill’s Mitchell Germann finished in first place in the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 4:40.85. He finished in third place in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 10:04.10. Teammate Ryan House finished in third place in the 1600 Meter Run with a time of 4:49.47.

Will Fromme finished first in the 110 Meter Hurdles with a time of 15.64. The Boys 4 x 400 Meter Relay team finished in third place with a time of 3:31.41. The team consisted of Chris Anderson, Caleb Guerin, Nick Hernandez, and Joe Kipfer.
