Claude A. “Dobin” Cantrell, 78, of Liberty Hill passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2014. A graveside service celebrating his life was held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Liberty Hill, Texas, with Pastor J.W. Hicks officiating.
Mr. Cantrell was born on September 12, 1935 in Leander, Texas to Henry and Floy Melvina Cantrell. He was raised in Leander, Texas, and attended Leander High School before marrying Donie Gephart on May 6, 1961, to whom he was married for 52 years.
He worked all of his life in the Liberty Hill area and was known as a man who could fix anything, always wore a smile and would give you the shirt off his back. He was everyone’s “Uncle Dobin.”
Mr. Cantrell was preceded in death by his parents, several siblings and his granddaughter, Susan Michelle Kiernan.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his wife, Donie; his children: Jeanne Sue Cantrell, Jessie Lee Cantrell, Raymond Cantrell and wife, Pam, Wanda Cantrell, Andy Cantrell and wife, Stephanie and Crystal Cantrell and husband, Eric; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lou Holder, MelV Waters and Mildred Hicks; brothers, Merlin “Shorty” Cantrell and Lee Cantrell and numerous other loving family and friends.
