The filing period is approaching for individuals interested in seeking a position on the Liberty Hill ISD Board of Trustees and the Liberty Hill City Council.
Individuals may file applications for a position on the May election ballots from Jan. 29-Feb. 28.
On the Liberty Hill school board, Places 1 and 2 are up for election this spring. Place 1 is currently held by Mike Bowles and Place 2 is held by Clay Cole. Trustees serve three-year terms, and must be qualified voters residing within the school district boundaries for at least six months prior to the filing deadline date.
On the Liberty Hill City Council, where officials serve two-year terms, three seats are up for election.
City voters will cast ballots to fill Place 2, which is held by Vicki Brewer; Place 4, which is currently held by Wendell McLeod; and the Mayor’s seat, currently held by Jamie Williamson.
To serve on the Council, qualified voters must reside within the city boundaries of Liberty Hill for at least six month prior to the Feb. 28 filing deadline.
Applications for school board may be completed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from Jan. 29-Feb. 28 at the district Administration Building, 14001 W. State Highway 29 in Liberty Hill.
Applications for City Council may be filed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday from Jan. 29-Feb. 28 at City Hall, 1120 Loop 332, Liberty Hill.
Early voting is April 28-May 6. Election Day is May 10.
