Dr. Mariska Visser is proud to announce the opening of her new practice called San Gabriel Family Chiropractic located at 13740 W. SH 29 at the intersection of FM 1869.

Dr. Mariska has over 16 years of experience in treating patients ranging from 5 days old to 98 years old.  She relocated from Massachusetts where she had a very successful practice and is excited to serve families in Liberty Hill and surrounding areas.

Dr. Mariska grew up in The Netherlands, where she studied Physical Therapy. She moved to the United States in 1993 to continue her education with a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree obtained in 1997 from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic.

In her off-time, Dr. Mariska has been riding horses since she was 6 years old, and enjoys riding her horse as much as she can. Her experience in the equine community has given her an advantage in treating equestrians by understanding the impact a rider with back pain can have on the performance of a horse.

Dr. Mariska also has extensive post-graduate training in Chiropractic Pediatrics and was the only chiropractor in a 30-mile radius to be referred to by Obstetricians and Nurse Midwives for the treatment of back pain, round ligament pain in pregnant patients.

She is also proficient in “Webster’s Breech Turning Technique” which has as much as 80 percent success rate in turning breech babies in a non-invasive manner.

Dr. Mariska believes in working closely with other health care professionals in order to provide the best care possible for her patients.  She feels that it is essential to communicate and cross-refer with physical therapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, and medical doctors.

In 2006, Dr. Mariska became certified in all levels of Graston Technique, allowing her to treat the most difficult, chronic cases of soft tissue pain.

She has done extensive work on releasing scar tissue in post-surgical cases, where the scars were causing pain and/or numbness.

Consultations are free. To schedule an appointment, call (512) 548-6576 or stop by the office.
