Cathy Ann ‘Cookie’ Clark

ClarkCathy Ann “Cookie” Clark of Liberty Hill passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at the age of 61.

Cookie was born October 24, 1951 in Austin, Texas to Floyd and Lorene Walker Clark. After graduating from John H. Reagan High School in 1970 she obtained a B.A. from Southwestern University in Georgetown and went on to earn a Master’s of Education from the University of Texas at Austin. She began her teaching career at Leander High School and was a resource and homebound teacher there for six years. She then worked as the sole counselor for Liberty Hill High School for 22 years. As a Certified Professional Counselor, she touched the lives of hundreds of students and families.

Cookie was a devoted daughter, sister and friend. She had a fun-loving outlook on life; was always honest, completely dependable and sure of her faith in God. She enjoyed learning new skills throughout her life and was an erstwhile golfer as well as talented painter and musician. She was proud to be a fifth generation Texan and charter member of the John Berry Chapter, Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Cookie is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister, Candice “Candy” Allmand and husband Steve; niece, Jodie Davis; great-nieces, Alyssa Davis, Sydni Davis and Lindsey Cittadino; numerous cousins; longtime close friends Penny Kendall; Steve and Donna Klepzig and many other loving friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH 35 in Georgetown Texas. A service celebrating Cookie’s life will be held Friday, June 28, 2013 at 10:00 am at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, led by Clarence Mounce and Laron Branson. Interment will follow at Bagdad Cemetery in Leander. Honoring Cookie’s memory serving as pallbearers will be Joe Bolin, Andy Burkett, Steve Klepzig, Glenn Rogers, Glen Wall and Dalton West.

Donations in Cookie’s memory may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Breast Cancer Foundation.
