Liberty Hill goes back to school

Officials say 2,825 students attended Liberty Hill public schools August 28 — the first day of the 2012-2013 academic year. The first day enrollment climbed by 131 over the first day of school in 2011.

Attendance comparisons by school showed increases on every campus except Liberty Hill Intermediate School, which stayed the same at 434 students. At Liberty Hill Elementary School, 432 students attended school Tuesday — an increase of 18 from the first day in 2011. Bill Burden Elementary increased by 24 students to 598. Liberty Hill Junior High saw 17 more students over this time last year — 492.

The most gain was seen at Liberty Hill High School where 867 students arrived for class on the first day Tuesday — an increase of 72 students over this time last year.

On the first day of school in 2011, LHISD had 2,694 students report for class.
