The Liberty Hill United Methodist Church announces its all-new LHUMC Summer Concert Series, showcasing big town stars and small town camaraderie.
The first of the three events, sponsored by The Word FM, will feature award-winning country star Pauline Reese and the Texas Eagle Dirt Band on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. All are welcome.
Known as the hardest working woman on the Texas/Red Dirt scene, Reese puts on an energetic live show. Reese was the Texas Music Awards 2011 Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year and a nominee for Album of the Year. She was also named TMA Entertainer of the Year in 2010 and has shared bills with Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Gary P. Nunn, Mark Chestnut, Billy Joe Shaver and many more.
“Music, in all of its many forms and genres, brings people together, so we are very excited to offer this concert series to Liberty Hill and the surrounding community,” says Randall Hilburn, pastor of the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church. “From country to bluegrass to blues, we’re hosting a range of musical talent that will appeal to a wide audience and we’re looking forward to establishing the concert series as an eagerly anticipated event year after year.”
The LHUMC Summer Concert Series will feature Pauline Reese on June 23, 2012; Allen Hurt and the Mountain Showmen on July 28, 2012; and Memphis Blues artist Danny Brooks on August 25, 2012.
The Texas Eagle Dirt Band will open for Pauline Reese and Allen Hurt, and the Greg Evans Band will open for Danny Brooks.
Concerts start at 7 p.m.; doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 each or $25 for all three concerts.
