Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a two-car collision involving a Williamson County deputy sheriff that occurred about 1 p.m. Monday at the intersection of State Highway 29 and U.S. Highway 183 in Liberty Hill.
The intersection was closed for almost three hours this afternoon and traffic was re-routed as emergency officials treated the officer, whose name has not been released, and the driver of a four-door white Hundai. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals.
The collision remains under investigation and officials from Williamson County Sheriff’s office have not yet responded to calls from The Independent.
